چکیده

The high beam intensities in the next linear collider can damage the collimation system jaws if a failure of the electronic machine protection system allows the acceleration of a mis-launched pulse. We are developing a prototype collimator that will allow a new jaw surface to be moved into place after beam damage. We are also developing a prototype collimator based on continuously reforming the collimator jaws out of liquid metal. This second system would allow the use of smaller beam sizes, and thereby shorter beam line lengths in the collimation system. Status of both prototypes is presented. 1 NLC COLLIMATION HARDWARE

Advanced Collimator Prototype Results for the NLC

The Next Linear Collider accelerator will include a large (kilometer scale) and complex collimation system. The size and complexity of this system could be reduced if the collimator jaws could be made immune to damage from the electron beam. We describe two collimation systems currently under development. Construction of a prototype system which uses wheels that can be moved to a new position a...

A new mathematical model for intensity matrix decomposition using multileaf collimator

Cancer is one of the major causes of death all over the globe and radiotherapy is considered one of its most effective treatment methods. Designing a radiotherapy treatment plan was done entirely manually in the past. RecentlyIntensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) was introduced as a new technology with advanced medical equipmentin the recent years. IMRT provides the opportunity to delive...

1 7 Ja n 20 01 Test Beams and Polarized Fixed Target Beams at the NLC Lewis

A conceptual program to use NLC beams for test beams and fixed target physics is described. Primary undisrupted polarized beams would be the most simple to use, but for NLC, the disrupted beams are of good enough quality that they could also be used, after collimation of the low energy tails, for test beams and fixed target physics. Pertinent issues are: what is the compelling physics, what are...
